Project: Federal Contracting Document Management
Client: National Contracting Service, Inc - Atlanta, GA
Overview
National Contracting Service, Inc wanted to create a site that would allow users to place bids on potential contracts solicited by the United States Government. Each solicited contract is stored in a database that can be searched by the users for a monthly fee.
System overview
The National Contracting system allows NCS administrators to compile complex federal contract bids for its users by attaching numerous FAR documents into cohesive groups. Users of the system can log in and see the available contracts up for bid and then print out the required forms which are automatically populated by the users stored information. Federal contract packages are quite complex and are comprised of several different documents. Our system allows users to save a history of all contracts they have bid on.
System Specifications and Features
The system allows each user to submit bids for government contracts electronically. It also allows them to track histories on contracts, bids, their company information, and billing information.
The built-in content manager lets National Contracting edit the way each page is displayed on the site with out having to hire someone who knows html.
The system also allows National Contracting to add new solicitations to be added to the database, which allows the members to place bids on. There is a built in billing feature which automates the monthly billing process for each member of the site.
One of the most remarkable features of this system developed by Vexcom is the way Proposals are created. The system keeps track of several hundred FAR documents (These are standardized federal government forms required to be submitted when bidding on a contract). Any given Contract may require 4 or 40 FAR documents, and each document requires different information from the Contractor.
The system Vexcom developed allows contractors to register with minimal information, then as they choose projects to bid on, the system creates a list of the required FAR documents. The user then prints each of these documents to create their bid. As they print each document, the system checks their user profile to see if all the required information has been logged, if not, the user is prompted to enter the missing information, then the final document can be printed - auto generated by the system.
